Analyzing the portrait of a woman of mysterious emotions, a masterpiece by Renaissance painter Leonardo da Vinci, working at the University of Amsterdam and in collaboration with the University of Illinois, he developed software that interpreted facial features by interpreting the emotions behind her enigmatic smile. His results showed that the Mona Lisa is predominantly happy - 83%, and 9% appalled, 6% scared and 2% angry, which caused great interest of the professional public in this area of ​​artificial intelligence. Prof. Sebee joined the Advisory Board of the Institute because, based on many years of significant cooperation and numerous projects he is implementing with professors from Serbia in this field, he recognized the potential of our experts, as well as the investments of our country to support the development of this profession. Prof. Sebe also cooperated with the acting Director of the Institute for Artificial Intelligence Ph.D Dubravko Ćulibrk.

The institute will have groups for computer vision, language comprehension, health applications, mathematical foundations of machine learning, as well as a group for new areas. That is why we have certainly created a mentoring program with our people from all over the world that will help us in that, but the Advisory Board in this composition of experts with enviable knowledge and world experience will ensure that we become a place that will provide Serbian researchers with the best framework for development constantly show innovation", concludes Ph.D Ćulibrk.

In addition to Professor Sebe, the team also includes lecturers, researchers and renowned scientists from world universities such as Columbia University, Temple University and Technical University Munich. The Advisory Board also includes representatives of global companies that are leaders in the field of artificial intelligence, among them Sasa Ostojic, one of the operational partners in the Playground Global fund, who will contribute with his thirty years of experience in leading positions in Silicon Valley companies.

The establishment of the Institute was initiated on the basis of the initiative from the Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence in the Republic of Serbia for the period 2020-25. year and the Action Plan for the period 2020-22. years for the implementation of the Strategy. The institute, based in Novi Sad, was founded by the Government of the Republic of Serbia in March.
