Great success of our high school students in the regional competition

They qualified for the EUSAIR POPRI competition as the winners, in the competition of high school teams, of last year's Competition for the best technological innovation.

The competition was held on May 11 and 12, in the competition of 9 high school teams from 9 countries of the Adriatic-Ionian region, the team of the Gymnasium "9.maj" in Nis, won the 3rd place.

Their innovation called VAH (Virtual Analytical Chemistry) is software and is intended for primary and secondary school students, but also for university students who have analytical chemistry in their curriculum.

Analytical chemistry is, due to color, visually easily transferable to the virtual world. Participants took advantage of this and their software allows simulation of chemical processes. What is happening in the test tube was "transferred" to VAH. The software is in the development phase and has been tested in chemistry classes in several classes - and there is already positive feedback from both students and chemistry professors. If schools do not have well-equipped chemical laboratories and do not have the conditions to perform chemical experiments, which are the basis of teaching chemistry - this innovation provides a solution.

The regional competition was in English. The organizer of the competition was the Technology Park Primorska, while the partner from Serbia is in charge of the selection of the competition teams Business Incubator Novi Sad. Support to the teams in preparation for the competition was provided by Aleksandar Vekić as well as the Organizing Team of the Competition for the Best Technological Innovation.
