Ceremonially marked University Day in Belgrade

The Day of University of Belgrade was marked with a ceremonial academy in the courtyard of the Rectorate in the presence of numerous dignitaries. On the occasion of the 214th anniversary of the foundation, the celebration included the ceremony of presenting charters to professors emeritus, recognition of students of the 31st generation of UB faculties, and awards for the best scientific research works by students of all four faculties.

"Continuity in the construction of everything that makes up the University of Belgrade continued in the last academic year, in which the successes of students and teachers can be highlighted with pride, although we recognize numerous challenges and tasks that will be imperative for constant adaptation to changes in the coming decades. The importance and role of the University of Belgrade is not only in the educational process and research, but also in its positioning as a socially engaged institution. The influence of the University of Belgrade in our society is incomparable to any other institution. Since its establishment, the University of Belgrade has "produced" more than half a million academic citizens, more than twenty thousand doctors of science and more than fifty professors emeritus. The impressive numbers unequivocally indicate the enormous contribution of our university to the common good. pointed out the rector Prof. Vladan Đokić, Ph.D. He listed numerous activities that the UB is currently undertaking both in terms of the development of teaching and scientific processes, as well as in winning better international positions and establishing new forms of cooperation, so that the University of Belgrade remains an active and creative visionary and a pioneer of knowledge-based initiatives while maintaining academic independence.
