Winners of the student Think Green hackathon at the ViennaUP’22 Technology Festival

Two first-place teams of the student Think Green hackathon, held in mid-April in the Science and Technology Park Belgrade, were awarded a study visit to Vienna and participation in the ViennaUP 2022 festival, which this year hosted a large number of young tech enthusiasts, talents, startups, innovators, companies and various organizations with a focus on innovation and sustainable development.

During their stay in Vienna, from May 29 to June 1, 2022, eight students from two winning teams - Terrawatt and Wastelocate had the opportunity to compare the projects being worked on in Serbia with those being implemented in Europe. According to the awarded students, this was an opportunity to get acquainted with innovations, ways of presentation, public appearance, techniques used to attract investment, but also to hear new ideas and exchange experiences with their colleagues from Europe.

Ana Radović, a member of the TerraWatt team, describes her experience as follows:

- Although not all lectures directly concerned my area of interest, this was more than a useful experience. I learned a lot of new things and gained a better insight into the world of entrepreneurship. I learned a lot about negotiation, funding, met a lot of people and made contacts, which will be very useful in my further development.

Andrija Urošević, a member of the Wastelocate team, especially emphasized how much it meant to him to participate in this festival to learn more about public appearances and pitches.

- At the lecture on negotiations, I heard a number of useful tips, such as, for example, win-win negotiations, and how we can make some seemingly impossible negotiations possible.

The student Think Green hackathon in the Science and Technology Park Belgrade (April 13-15, 2022) was organized within the project "EU support to the Science and Technology Park Belgrade in providing services to innovative companies", and a study trip for two first-place teams was provided through the project " Pulse of Europe - EU media visits ". Both projects are funded by the European Union.
