Intellectual Property Office webinar on the new WIPO standard ST.26

The Intellectual Property Office will hold a webinar on the new standard ST.26 on Thursday, June 9, 2022, starting at 10:00 AM and lasting about two hours. The new standard of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) for the inventory of nucleotide and amino acid sequences in patent applications in the field of biotechnology, ST.26, enters into force on July 1, 2022 and will replace the current standard ST.25.

The purpose of the new standard is to enable the applicant to compile a list of sequences described in a patent application in the field of biotechnology that is acceptable for both international and national or regional procedures, then to improve the accuracy and quality of sequencing, facilitate search and exchange in electronic form as well as entry into computerized databases.

The webinar is intended for researchers in this field, as well as for representatives and other stakeholders who want to get better acquainted with the new standard ST.26.

You can access the registration for the webinar here. After registration, at the e-mail address you provided in the registration form, you will receive a link to follow the webinar via the Zoom Meeting platform a few days before the date of the webinar.
