UNICEF funds startups in the development of blockchain technologies

UNICEF's Innovation Fund plans to invest up to $ 100,000 per team (in dollars and / or cryptocurrency) to provide early-stage funding and mentoring for startups that develop technologies that have the potential to help humanity.

UNICEF provides these funds without taking an ownership stake in the companies. Contest participants have the opportunity to receive part of the funds in cryptocurrency (bitcoin or ether). Given the current global market climate as well as the dramatic transition to digital business driven by the Covid-19 pandemic, open source solutions that address the critical needs of society are more important today than ever.

- If you are the owner of a startup company registered in one of the countries where UNICEF programs are implemented, and you have a functional open source blockchain prototype that looks promising (or you are willing to make your existing solution publicly available under one of the open-source licenses), you are the ones we are looking for - it is stated in the invitation of UNICEF.

Teams from Serbia, the Western Balkans region and all countries covered by UNICEF programs have the right to apply. Startups from Serbia can get additional information in Serbian, because UNICEF Serbia provided support to domestic companies during the competition.
