Days of Science and Business 2024: Cooperation between science and business key to creating the potential of the sharing economy

The Innovation Department of the CCIS, in cooperation with researchers from three faculties of the University of Belgrade, the Faculty of Traffic, Economics and Organizational Sciences, and the European Network of Entrepreneurship within the Council for Cooperation of Science and Economy, organized the event "Days of Science and Economy 2024", which held on Monday, April 8, 2024, in the premises of the CCIS.

The meeting was organized with the aim of introducing the public to innovative business models of the platform economy and the sharing economy, the state and perspectives in Serbia, as well as existing and new sources of funding for their further development.
According to the research findings of these models in Serbia, cooperation between science and business is key to unlocking the potential of this development and overcoming the challenges these innovative business models face.
At the meeting, research findings were discussed through the presentation of the results of the PANACEA project, which is implemented with the support of the Science Fund of Serbia, and its main goal is to build the capacities necessary for "unlocking" the sharing economy market and its accelerated development.
The second part of the conference is dedicated to the terms of the competition for the Best Technological Innovation, which promotes an entrepreneurial way of thinking and behavior by providing participants with financial, media and educational support. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the organization of the first competition.
The available sources of funding and the European Union Innovation Program, Horizon Europe, as well as the services of the European Entrepreneurship Network were also discussed.
The most important conclusion is that unlocking the potential of new business models requires the combined efforts of all interested parties, where the key role is played by the cooperation of science and business, as well as the establishment of sustainable partnerships with the platforms themselves and the wider research and business community.
