Serbia recognizes science as key to development and progress

The Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Jelena Begović, participated in the ministerial round table at the 27th session of the Commission for Science and Technological Development in Geneva, the topic of which is "The role of science, technology and innovation in strengthening the Agenda for Sustainable Development 2030". and poverty reduction in times of multipolar crises: effective delivery of sustainable, resilient and innovative solutions”.

Assistant Minister Ivana Vukašinović also actively participated in the high-level panel on global cooperation in scientific, technological and innovative development, where she spoke about the efficient delivery of sustainable and innovative solutions in accordance with the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The session of the Commission for Science and Technological Development takes place from April 15 to 19 in Geneva. Each year, the Commission has two priority thematic areas, and for the 27th session they are data for development and global cooperation in science, technology and innovation for development.
The Commission will review progress in implementing and monitoring the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society at regional and international levels and hear presentations on current science, technology and innovation policy reviews.
The presence of the Serbian delegation at the 27th session of the Commission not only demonstrates the country's commitment to scientific development, but also contributes to the strengthening of international ties and the exchange of ideas.
