Serbia and the UAE signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of artificial intelligence

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, attended today in Dubai the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Serbia and the United Arab Emirates in the field of development and application of artificial intelligence.

She explained that the UAE has developed its own language model that is used to teach a computer something, to send it data, which it then processes and gives answers to various questions.

The Prime Minister explained that it is practically a model like the American GPT, adding that Serbia signed the aforementioned document so that our scientific institutes, startups and others could use that model.

Based on this model, it will be easier for us to develop our language models, stated the Prime Minister, pointing out the importance of these technologies within artificial intelligence for our companies and administration.

She said that it is important for our country to follow all trends and to establish partnerships with the UAE, adding that Serbia is one of the 29 countries in the world that is part of the global partnership for the development of artificial intelligence.

The memorandum was signed by the Minister of Information and Telecommunications, Mihailo Jovanović, and the Director of the Institute for Research and Development of Artificial Intelligence, Dubravko Ćulibrk, and the Secretary General of the UAE Advanced Technologies Research Council, Faisal Al Banai.

This cooperation aims to use the technical expertise of the UAE Advanced Technologies Research Council, the possibility of using Falcon open source and solutions based on it for the further development of artificial intelligence in Serbia.
