The recommendations of the "Grey Book" are extremely important for the improvement of the state apparatus

At the Palace of Serbia, where the 16th annual conference on economic reforms in Serbia "The Gray Book" was held, Begović pointed out that one of the priorities contained in this book is indirectly related to the line ministry, i.e. the establishment of a unique digital e-card.

This will bring us great benefit, the minister assessed and explained that it is genetic information that is generated in scientific research organizations and that we should open up for research, but also for the development of innovation and the economy of Serbia.

When it comes to the Gray Book of Innovation, which is directly related to the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, she stated that she had six recommendations, of which three were fully fulfilled last year, two partially and one recommendation is in the process.

According to her, one of the recommendations that has been fulfilled is the proper registration of subjects of the National Innovation System, which determined what startups and spinoffs are.

Begović reminded that last December a register was launched in the form of an e-portal, which is managed by the Innovation Fund.

Within that register, there are not only startup companies, but all subjects of innovation activity, science and technology parks, various other organizations that support startups, investors, that is, financial mechanisms. This is actually the basis for supporting all subjects of innovation activity, the minister explained.

She pointed out that Serbia has more than 600 startup companies, four science and technology parks, but that the expansion of this infrastructure is still being worked on.

Namely, as she mentioned, we have started expanding the Science and Technology Park in Niš, we are on the way to the new Industrial and Technology Park in Kruševac, and a new innovation district is being developed in Kragujevac under the leadership of the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications.

Also, as she reminded, 14 new innovation incubators were opened, which are a form of support for innovative activities.

We connected all regional innovation startup centers with science and technology parks, because we want to build a solid formal connection and network between all subjects of scientific research and innovation, in order to show that science has the power to exert a positive influence on the economy of our country, Begović emphasized.

Speaking about the improvement of the innovation ecosystem, the minister recalled the SAIGE project, which works intensively on the transformation of our research organizations, explaining that it is managed by the World Bank, and financed by that bank and the European Union.
