BIO4 campus project that changes Serbia

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabić attended today, together with the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and the Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Jelena Begović, the ceremony on the occasion of the issuance of the construction permit for the BIO4 campus.

At the cocktail party in the Palace of Serbia, Vučić pointed out that the construction of the BIO4 campus, which will be the new bioeconomic center in Europe, is a big deal for our country and something that represents the future.

As he stated, this center will bring together seven faculties and nine scientific institutes and will employ more than 1,000 doctors of science, and more than 4,000 students will study there.

The idea is for the BIO4 campus to be one of the 10 or 12 most successful in the whole world, underlined the president and added that it will be a common advantage of the entire region compared to others.

Begović pointed out that this is the largest single investment in science ever in Serbia, as it is an investment of 450 million euros, noting that the Development Bank of the Council of Europe has already secured funds in the amount of 200 million euros for the initial construction.

BIO4 is actually a collaborative platform. The very fact that it will have seven faculties, nine institutes, research and development centers of large domestic and international companies, a business park for development, startup communities, sports centers, a multimedia museum, a conference center and more shows that only through cooperation can we achieve results, Begović presented.

Preparatory works on the construction of the facility within the BIO4 campus began on May 29, and all works should be completed in 2026.
