The introductory speech was given by Bojana Krstić, Head of the Innovation Department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, who emphasized the importance of holding events that continue with useful and educational content organized within the Council for Cooperation of Science and Economy. Krstic added that the Innovation Department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia within the Open Innovation Club will try to promote programs for financing innovation activities in the coming period, by getting acquainted with the possibilities for applying and establishing new business contacts in the field of financing.
At the workshop of the Open Innovation Club, those present were able to get detailed information about the Program, as well as to hear the experiences of the user.
The program was presented by Dejan Tonić, Program Regional Coordinator for the Western Balkans of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), who gave practical examples to future applicants on how to avoid mistakes and be as successful as possible in the application process.
Janko Pavlović, founder and director of the company "Digital Worx", as a beneficiary of the Program, shared his experience and emphasized the importance of this support for the further development of his business. Pavlovic encouraged participants to apply for the "EBRD Star Venture" program and gain numerous benefits.
At the end of the presentation, participants had the opportunity to ask questions and receive direct answers from the program regional coordinator.
The moderator of the event was Nadežda Tonić, on behalf of the Innovation Department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.
The program supports innovative businesses in the early stages of development, which have the potential for rapid growth in world markets and attracting investment. The EBRD Star Venture program in the Western Balkans region is funded by Luxembourg through the EBRD Small Business Impact Fund (SBIF). The third call for fast-growing startups from the region will be open until July 15, 2021. Interested startup businesses can apply online via the link https://www.ebrd.com/starventure/start-ups where they can find more information about the program, application guidelines (Application Guidelines) and application form (Application form). Also, startups need to submit financial reports and pitch deck as part of the application.
