The Government of Serbia has adopted the Education and Upbringing Strategy 2030 and two laws in the field of higher education

The Government of Serbia has adopted the Strategy for the Development of Education and Upbringing 2030, as well as two laws in the field of higher education - the Draft Law on Student Organization and the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Higher Education.

The First Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Branko Ružić pointed out that the Strategy for the Development of Education 2030 was adopted in order to improve the quality of the educational process, thus focusing on student-centered education and development of its competencies, as well as application of modern approaches, methods and techniques.

The strategy of education and upbringing until 2030 is a plan for the continuation of reforms that will enable more children to be included in education, that the education system responds to the demands of the labor market, and that students develop knowledge, skills and competencies . The strategy respects the needs of improving the quality of education and upbringing of members of national minorities, as well as students with disabilities.

The draft law on amendments to the Law on Higher Education enables Serbia to regain full membership in the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and to extend the deadline for completion of studies for so-called old students.

The draft Law on Student Organization enables the creation of various student organizations, such as student conferences, which will have the authority to harmonize positions and coordinate student parliaments and influence enrollment and public policies of importance to the student community, as well as improve its position.
