The traditional way of producing strip materials in a roll requires a solid core as a basis for winding, in the case of stretch film it is a cardboard core. Although most lay people think that every cardboard can be recycled, in the case of cardboard cores, sleeves, that is not the case. They are made with large amounts of glue, as a result of which they are undesirable in recycling centers and therefore can only go to the landfill. The founder came up with the idea to replace the cardboard sleeves with a plastic tool that will be removed from the roll after winding, after which the strength of the same will not be disturbed, which will enable its use.
- On 6,000 rolls that are produced per month, an annual saving of eight tons of cardboard was achieved. These are annual waste trucks. We cover only 5% of packaging in Serbia, imagine how much savings would be if the other 95% of factories switched to foil without a sleeve. How much would the savings be and how much less waste would they make? - the young innovator emphasized.
The most interesting for them is the market of the European Union, where companies have to pay an environmental tax for all waste that leaves the production hall, while with this foil there is no waste, the utilization is 100%. The best example of that is a company from Budapest, where they have to pay 40 forints of environmental tax for every cardboard box that ends up in the trash, and that is why they adopted the product that comes from Srbobran without much thought. Also, the decision of the company to adopt a new product includes the price of transport. Old rolls with sleeves are much heavier, and trucks are limited in load capacity, while in the case of foil without a core, the vehicle can carry much more foil.
Foil from Srbobran can be found at many large and well-known companies, and among them are: Aretol, Keramika Kanjiža, Simeks, Vitorog, Vino Župa, Capriolo, Vobihaus, Beorol, Rolna, Medela, Black Horse and some 80 smaller companies. Negotiations are currently underway with large retail chains that consume significant amounts of foil. In addition to Hungary, it is also exported to Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a service rewinding of foil is being done for a Polish company.
They are currently in the process of product protection, obtaining a patent for the territory of Serbia: for the logo, the final product, the process of obtaining the product itself and the tool itself created for those purposes. This is followed by research of the European market, so that in the near future the same can be done for the territory of the old continent. Kamar Plus received the right to use the Bačka brand, a positive response was received from the Chamber of Commerce for the Čuvarkuća brand - produced in Serbia, and a temporary patent was obtained from the Intellectual Property Office.
