Vučić to Sign Agreement on €100 Million-Plus Battery Factory in Inđija

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić will meet today with representatives of the Chinese company Jiangsu Reliance Energy Tech, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of batteries for high-tech devices, the Office of the President of the Republic for Media Cooperation announced.

Following the meeting, Vučić will attend the signing of a Framework Agreement on the construction of a factory in Inđija for the production of high-tech batteries for drones, humanoid robots, unmanned vehicles, advanced power tools, and household appliances.

On Friday, while attending the opening of Europe’s first humanoid robot factory in Šabac, Vučić said that the most sophisticated batteries in the world at present would be produced in Inđija.

“They are also for drones, and the battery is becoming de facto the most important part of a drone—so they are for drones, robots, and everything else,” the President said at the time.

According to him, the initial agreements for the battery factory in Inđija with Reliance are worth more than €100 million.

“At the invitation of the president of Minth, we have a meeting on Monday, as well as the signing of the first agreements for the battery factory with Reliance in Inđija, representing an investment of €100.5 million,” Vučić said.

He stressed that the investment is being directed to Inđija because investors want to establish a complete industrial park there dedicated to the development of the robotics and drone industries.

Reliance Batteries is one of the world’s leading companies specializing in batteries for drones, unmanned vehicles, robots, as well as household appliances.
