Following a cordial discussion, the Minister visited the Clinical Center’s new Blood Bank and the Day Hospital for Pain Therapy, where they discussed the support that the Ministry will provide for the introduction of innovations in hospital treatment.
The institution’s new organizational units will significantly improve healthcare services at the second-largest hospital complex in the country.
Director Lazarević expressed particular satisfaction that eight young transfusion medicine specialists took part in the tour, giving them an opportunity to discuss current issues in transfusion medicine with Academician Balint.
“At the same time, we used Minister Balint’s visit today to consult with him about the hospital blood bank. We plan to begin developing a course at the Faculty of Medicine dedicated to this branch of medicine, and Academician Balint has agreed to assist us in this endeavor,” he said.
“On this occasion, in addition to the hospital blood bank, we also visited the Pain Therapy Center, given that these are two new organizational units being introduced at the Clinical Center Niš. We have received support from the Ministry for the development and implementation of innovations aimed at improving the diagnosis and treatment of patients from the entire southeastern part of Serbia who seek care at our institution,” Associate Professor Dr. Lazarević said.
