Serbian Startup Smartsy Secures €500,000 Investment on Austria’s “Shark Tank”

The innovative Serbian startup Smartsy, which develops smart dog houses, made a significant international breakthrough by participating in “2 Minuten 2 Millionen,” the Austrian version of “Shark Tank” and one of the most-watched startup shows in Europe. The company secured a €500,000 investment from serial entrepreneur and investor Alexander Schütz, further confirming the potential of this domestic product for the global market.

This achievement marks an important milestone for Smartsy and for the broader domestic innovation ecosystem. Beyond financial support, the investment brings strategic partnership that will enable accelerated business scaling, particularly in the DACH market (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), where there is a strong demand for improved pet-friendly infrastructure in the retail sector.

Smartsy is already actively implementing its solutions in Austria through collaborations with leading retail chains, including the REWE Group (BILLA). At the same time, the company plans to expand into other European markets and reintroduce an enhanced version of its product to the domestic market.

Smartsy is developing within the SEE UP accelerator, which supports startups with market-validated solutions, under the umbrella of the Center for Digital Transformation (CDT) of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS). The Chamber enables its members to participate in prestigious international innovation fairs and continuously contributes to positioning Serbia as a hub for European technology and biotechnology. This strengthens the country’s role as a leader in innovation within the pet equipment and food production industry and establishes Serbia as one of the fastest-growing ICT and startup communities in Europe.
