A total of 47 proposed solutions by innovative entities were considered after a public call, and the selected 20 will receive financial support of 60,000 to 120,000 euros per project. These funds will enable the development of new and improvement of existing products and services that have the potential to solve 20 challenges facing the public sector.
Our innovation sector has responded with solutions that encompass a wide range of technological innovations with the potential to fully digitize public services. We remind you that the first phase of the program showed a high level of readiness of the public sector for digital transformation, with as many as 54 reported challenges.
In the second phase, private companies and scientific-research organizations will work to improve various aspects of public services through their solutions. These projects, supported by funds from the Fund, include advanced solutions in the fields of health, education, agriculture, water management, utilities and resource management. Special emphasis will be placed on digitalization and the application of artificial intelligence, as well as on improving the application and understanding of the Serbian language. Examples of supported projects include the VodostAI flood prediction and prevention platform, the irrigation optimization system irrigNET, and the digitization of written cultural heritage through the LibrAIfy solution.
This program is an important step towards creating a modern, efficient and transparent public sector. We believe that this program will bring significant changes and improvements in the quality of life of Serbian citizens.
Funds for the implementation of the GovTech program were provided from the budget of the Republic of Serbia, from the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation in the total amount of 150,000,000 dinars.
