STP Belgrade presented as a successful example at the Regional meeting in Kazakhstan

Science Technology Park Belgrade (STP Belgrade) was presented as a successful example in supporting the development of innovations at the Regional Meeting on Improving the Capacity of Technology Parks for the Commercialization of IP in the EAPO Member States Region in Kazakhstan.

At the invitation of WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization), which in cooperation with EAPO (Eurasian Patent Organization) organized this two-day international conference (March 14-15), the director of STP Belgrade Gordana Danilović Grković had the honor to share the experiences of the team from the beginning of the development of the first technological incubator (BITF), to the successful development of STP Belgrade, and how much influence it had on the development of the innovative ecosystem of Serbia.

In addition to the results achieved since its establishment in 2015, since STP Belgrade has supported more than 180 companies in the development and commercialization of innovative products and services, the first pre-seed accelerator program in Serbia - Raising Starts, which STP Belgrade is implementing with the support of the Government, was also presented. Switzerland, supporting the growth of new startup companies and contributing to the development of innovation-based regions. Special support for startups within this program refers to the protection of intellectual property, with the support of the Swiss Federal Institute for Intellectual Property.

The director of STP spoke in more detail about the work on the IP component with all member companies, and she also presented the first Guide on Intellectual Property for Serbian startups made in cooperation with WIPO and the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia, which includes examples of the use of intellectual property rights in business with five startups from the community.
