Recycling pays off for everyone

Recyclomat - a machine that connects recycling, neural networks and earnings (for anyone who puts cans, glass, paper or plastic packaging in the recyclomat), is an innovation that reached the semifinals and placement from 7th to 12th place.

Can the recycling of packaging be more accessible and cost-effective for those who, by the way, when they leave or return from work, could leave a can or a plastic bottle somewhere from where they will safely arrive at the recycling center, and not in nature? The answer to that question was sought and found by a five-member team that presented the innovation, and they called it recyclomat, at last year's Competition for the best technological innovation. In just one month, one recycling plant collects 1.5 tons of recyclable waste, which is about 35,000 cans, tetra packaging, glass or plastic bottles. In Belgrade, in just one month, more than 150,000 dinars were used to top up the public transport card, more than 36,000 dinars were paid to charity, and 413,000 dinars from recycling were converted into minutes, messages and the Internet of Globaltel. After emptying the machine, the packaging is sorted and recycled. This solution is much cheaper than similar machines used in the world, and soon, in addition to recognition, neural networks will also classify or classify packaging inside the machine. The members of the team learned a lot at the Competition, primarily in the field of economics. For those of us who are more in "technical waters", the training and trainings where we learned about business, patent protection and marketing meant a lot, and we need that knowledge to place the product on the market - concludes Darko Lazović, team member.
