Competition for the Best Technology Innovation 2020 - Registration is still open

At this point, due to the situation, the application for the 2020 Competition is still open. Household members, as well as our citizens who have lost their jobs abroad, are particularly encouraged to consider using their knowledge, experience and creativity to create a new product or service at this time when everyone is together.
In this way, when the situation normalizes, they would be able to create new jobs for themselves and their family members through training and independent work and provide income. By doing so, they can strengthen their own capacity as well as the overall capacity of the Serbian economy, which will be of great importance in the future. There is no restriction on participation in the competition, in terms of education, age, gender, social category or field of creativity. The only requirement is a team of at least three members and an innovative solution that can find its place in the market.

The National Competition for the Best Technological Innovation in Serbia, as a national project, has been held continuously since 2005, organized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. So far, 2800 teams have participated with over 9000 participants, and through this competition, over 85 new companies have been established, and 1425 business plans and business models have been prepared.

The competition runs throughout the calendar year, with the finale taking place at the end of December with live coverage on RTS.

State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development prof. Dr. Vladimir Popovic pointed out that of the six finalists of the competition in 2019, members of as many as three teams are currently actively involved in solving problems caused by the emergence of the Kovid-19 virus.

That speaks best to how important and successful this competition is. Anora team members create a new protective mask, while IMPTehna team members realize the first Serbian respirator. Both projects (protective mask and respirator) are among the winners of the recently announced invitation on the initiative of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, and through the Innovation Fund, which is also in the competence of our Ministry, said Mr. Popovic.

Popovic also said that colleagues at the Institute for the Use of Nuclear Energy (INEP), who won the 2019 Competition for the Best Technological Innovation, are working to develop a domestic "elysis" test designed to detect specific antibodies related to the presence of Kovid-19 virus in the population. The development of this test has diagnostic, therapeutic, epidemiological, economic and public significance for our country.

"All of these teams need the knowledge, valuable experience and the courage to find new innovative solutions, among other things, through the one-year cycle of training they received during their participation in the National Competition for the Best Technological Innovation," said Popovic.
