In light of the high-level political forum on sustainable development, held under the auspices of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the UNWTO has launched the Global Startup Competition SDGs.
Organized in partnership with Wakalua, the innovation center of the leading tourism group Globalia, participants in this competition will have great support from the private sector, with Advanced Leadership Foundation, Amadeus, Amazon Web Services Activate, BBVA, ClarkeModet, Far Co, Globant, Google, IE University, Mastercard , Day Mentor, Plug and Play and Telefónica as leading promoters of innovation.

The competition is not open exclusively to innovators in the tourism sector, but startups of all kinds, from all over the world are invited to participate under the conditions that they are:

- Innovative in nature and offer value-added solutions,

- Guided by sustainability,

- They have the potential of international development and can be applied in corporations and destinations,

- They are in the initial stage,

- They have a tested pilot and business plan,

- They have a complete team that functions regularly.

The top 17 starts (1 for each of the SDGs) will receive support to improve their business and the opportunity to really change the future of tourist destinations.

The UNWTO will present the best ideas to its member states, associate members and investors, giving them a unique networking and networking opportunity.

Entries are now open and close on September 20, 2020, and the winners will be announced in November.
