In order to respond to the social challenges of the development of the Republic of Serbia, as well as to the global challenges of the development of the society, based on the Strategy of Scientific and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, the Smart Specialization Strategy in the Republic of Serbia and other sectoral strategies relevant to the development of the society.

The program will provide funding for projects based on excellent ideas that can have a significant impact in the future on the development of science and research, the economy and / or society at large, the involvement of outstanding researchers in scientific research, the enhancement of researchers' professional capacities and the creation of new project teams.

The program supports basic and applied research in all scientific fields.

Projects under this Program have no predefined topics. The program allows researchers to define their own research programs, form their own teams and collaborate with appropriate laboratories, research centers and businesses in Serbia and worldwide.

The program is implemented within four sub-programs for the development of scientific research in the following scientific fields: 1) natural sciences; 2) technical and technological sciences; 3) (bio) medical sciences; and 4) social sciences and humanities.

The duration of the Project is up to three years (36 months).

The budget available for this public call is € 24,000,000.

The program is of public interest for the Republic of Serbia, and is planned and implemented in accordance with the Law on the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia (Official Gazette of the RS, No. 95/18) and in accordance with other regulations in the field of scientific research and innovation.

Applications for this public invitation shall be submitted solely in electronic form no later than 11.06.2020. until 3 pm CET, by filling out the project application through the eGovernment portal of the Republic of Serbia: https://www.euprava.gov.rs.
