The Center for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence in Education in Belgrade was presented

On Monday, June 15, 2020, the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, Mladen Šarčević, visited the Center for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence in Education, located at the Faculty of Teacher Education, University of Belgrade.

Serbia has invested 15 million dinars in the Center, which is a joint venture of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and the Chinese company "Net Dragon", while the Chinese partners have given significantly larger funds.

The delegation that visited the center also included the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Popovic and Minister without Portfolio in charge of innovations Nenad Popovic.

President Aleksandar Vučić stated that Serbia well understood that the field of innovative technologies, robotics and artificial intelligence is the way to the future, and assessed that our country could be one of the most successful in the digital sphere.

According to him, everything seems almost surreal and as if he is not in Serbia, but it turned out that it is possible to be in Serbia.

After visiting the Center for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, President Vučić announced that such centers would be opened in Novi Sad and Trstenik, and added that he was grateful to the Chinese partners.

We want to train teachers, professors, professors, to keep up with new technologies. "China is the leading country in artificial intelligence, and we are happy to be able to participate in that," Vucic said.

The Chinese Ambassador to Chen Bo pointed out today that digital education and the digital economy are the driving force of the development of the whole world, as well as that China and Serbia are increasingly cooperating in these areas.

I hope that in the future, innovation and new technology will become a new growing point of our cooperation, she said.

The manager of the company "Net Dragon", Liu Deijan, who addressed the audience via a video link, pointed out that there is a sincere friendship between China and Serbia.

It is a great honor that I can work with the Serbian team and that we managed to establish this center. We hope to continue working in the near future and thus contribute to the improvement of the education system, he said.

Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Education, Danimir Mandić, said that this project also enables monitoring of students' progress.

We have managed to create a center and software that would be representative of the whole of Europe and the world. We are returning the educational function of the school, so that the teacher is not overburdened with basic tasks, but to encourage students in development, said Mandić.
