Program of cooperation of Serbian science with the diaspora - the final list of projects approved for funding

Within the first public call of the Program of Cooperation of Serbian Science with the Diaspora: Vouchers for the Exchange of Knowledge, the Science Fund will finance 92 projects in the total amount of 797,591.70 euros. The duration of the projects is up to one year, and the maximum amount of individual projects is up to 10,000.00 euros.

This program is the first of three planned programs within the Development of Cooperation with the Diaspora and represents a financial incentive that enables scientific research organizations to develop cooperation with the Diaspora and improve capacity through short-term visits of Serbian researchers to diaspora experts and support for joint activities.

The program of cooperation between Serbian science and the diaspora is aimed at establishing scientific cooperation, exchange of knowledge, joint work on projects, works, research and patents, planning and expanding the network of cooperation between researchers from Serbia and scientists from the diaspora. The program supports basic and applied research in all research areas, without pre-defined priority topics.

Within the Program of Cooperation of Serbian Science with the Diaspora, projects will be realized in cooperation with scientific research organizations from 22 countries around the world. The projects will be implemented in partnership with diaspora researchers and their scientific research organizations. Scientists from Serbia will have the opportunity to stay and conduct part of the research in Europe: Germany (13 projects), Great Britain (11 projects), Austria (7 projects), Sweden (5 projects), the Netherlands (4 projects), France (4 projects) ), Spain (3 projects), Portugal (3 projects), Switzerland (2 projects), Italy (2 projects), Belgium (2 projects), Russia (1 project), Finland (1 project), Denmark (1 project), Norway (1 project); America: United States (22 projects), Canada (1 project), Brazil (1 project); Asia: China (2 projects), Singapore (1 project), Kuwait (1 project); Australia (4 projects).

A total of 126 projects were applied for the public call, which was open from November 29, 2019 and lasted until January 31, 2020. In the order of receipt of applications, in a total of 5 iterations, the Program Committee evaluated the project proposals and formed lists that were further sent to the Scientific Council and the Steering Committee for adoption.

Of the 92 projects approved for funding, 31 projects are in the field of natural and mathematical sciences, 27 in technical and technological sciences, 22 in medical sciences, 5 in biotechnical sciences and 7 in social sciences and humanities.

Among the 92 approved projects are 62 faculties and 30 institutes, with 70 scientific research organizations from Belgrade, 13 from Novi Sad, 3 from Kragujevac, 4 from Nis, 1 from Valjevo and 1 from Subotica.

There are 57 scientists and 35 scientists in the position of Project Manager.

The program was open until the funds were spent, and the Science Fund periodically, for 15 days, made sections of the received project proposals and sent them for evaluation.
