Science and research are activities that are aimed at discovering new facts about the functioning of the world around us, which are of special importance for the overall development of society. In the Republic of Serbia, science and research together with higher education are an important driver of economic and overall social development. One of the ways to enable further development of science and research is the establishment of scientific research organizations that perform scientific research activities.

This brochure contains a list of all accredited institutes. The Institute may perform scientific research activities as a scientific institute, research and development institute and institute of national importance for the Republic of Serbia. Institutes in Serbia have played a significant role in science and society since its inception. The total number of accredited institutes in Serbia is 65, which tells us that scientific research is still active in Serbia. The aim of this brochure is to inform all interested business entities about the activities carried out by all accredited institutes in order to increase the cooperation between science and the economy, which is necessary for the further development of our economy and society.
