New building of the Science and Technology Park Čačak opened

On Tuesday, June 16, 2020, a new building for the Science and Technology Park in this city was opened in Čačak, which will have 4,500 m2 at its disposal in the area where the "Cer" factory used to be.

The Science and Technology Park Čačak (NTP Čačak) will also have a production plant at this location, and the first seven innovative companies are moving in.

As in the previous week at the opening of the Science and Technology Park Nis, an agreement was signed today in Cacak on the implementation of the project "Technopark Serbia 2 - encouraging exports through the development of technology parks", which will support the Government of the Swiss Confederation in the next four years. science and technology parks in Serbia with about 3.5m euros. In total, through the Project, more than 930,000 EUR will be invested in the regions of Nis and Cacak, for the development of science and technology parks in them (about 558,000 EUR in the region of Nis and more than 370,000 EUR in the region of Cacak). The contract was signed by Mirko Pešić, acting directors of NTP Čačak and Gordana Danilović Grković, acting Director of the Science and Technology Park Belgrade, who will coordinate the project in the next four years.

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, who attended the opening of the new building in Čačak, stated in his address that the state will continue to invest in education, emphasizing special gratitude to the Government of the Swiss Confederation for its support in further capacity development and establishing a network of science and technology parks in Serbia. . The opening was also attended by the Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabić, the Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Mladen Šarčević, the Minister without Portfolio in charge of Technological Development, Nenad Popović and the Mayor of Čačak, Milun Todorović.

In order to build capacity to support the establishment and accelerated development of new innovative, export-oriented companies in Cacak, NTP Belgrade through the Project "Technopark Serbia 2 - Encouraging exports through the development of technology parks" will help strengthen innovation potential in this region, transferring models, knowledge and experiences in supporting the development and commercialization of innovation.

Through the Project, in the next four years, financial support of EUR 1.15 million will be provided to teams in the early phase of development for the establishment and micro financing of 100 new startup companies in Belgrade, Nis and Cacak.

The project "Technopark Serbia 2 - Encouraging Exports through the Development of Technology Parks" was supported by the Government of the Swiss Confederation at the initiative of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, based on well-achieved results in the previous phase, in establishing and developing NTP Belgrade as the first functional science and technology park in Serbia. The Government of the Swiss Confederation hereby invests a total of EUR 4,520,000 (EUR 1,070,000 for Phase I and EUR 3,450,000 for Phase II) in the development of technology parks in Serbia, including the previous phase.
