The Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade and the NIS Company signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

The Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, Mladen Šarčević, attended the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of education, research and knowledge transfer between the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade and NIS, which took place on Monday, June 8, 2020.

The memorandum was signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Milo Tomašević, and the Deputy General Director of NIS, Vadim Smirnov.

The cooperation, which will take place through NIS's "Energy of Knowledge" program, will include the inclusion of students in NIS programs and professional practice, and represents a continuation of cooperation between NIS and faculties of interest for the digital business segment of the company that NIS is developing. That cooperation started last year with the Faculty of Electronics in Nis.

The Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, Mladen Šarčević, pointed out that the company NIS is one of the big donors in the field of education.

He assessed that this type of cooperation certainly represents a benefit for the academic community, students and higher education institutions.

As he said, NIS allocates significant funds for scholarships for students, equipment and improvement of scientific research work.

Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade prof. Dr. Milo Tomašević pointed out the importance of this Memorandum for the ETF and its students.

Vadim Smirnov, Deputy General Director of NIS and Director of the Function for Relations with State Bodies and Corporate Communications of NIS, said that the signing of this Memorandum represents a significant step towards the development of cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and educational institutions in Serbia.

According to him, a large number of students from Serbia were provided with scholarships at the best faculties in Russia and Serbia.

The memorandum envisages trainings, expert counseling and consultations, participation in joint projects, organization of guest lectures by NIS experts and professors from the faculty, as well as other types of communication. The cooperation will also include the inclusion of students in NIS programs intended for young people and professional internships.

At the end of 2019, NIS and the Faculty of Electronics in Nis signed an Agreement on Business and Technical Cooperation, on the basis of which funds were donated to the Faculty for the purchase of equipment for the implementation of joint projects of the Faculty and NIS and which will contribute to the development of scientific and technical base.

In addition to the Faculty of Electronics in Nis and the ETF in Belgrade, such cooperation is expected in the coming period with the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad.
