The COVID-19 challenge: A call for innovation in a time of crisis

The United Nations Development Program, in collaboration with the World Health Organization, is launching a Public Call for Innovative Solutions or Replicating Existing Solutions Used in Other Parts of the World to Protect Providers and Caregivers from Virus Crowns, Eliminate Infection and Reduce Risk of Transmission viruses.

Therefore, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Serbia invites legal entities to propose new ways of manufacturing or procuring innovative products, technological solutions and new value chains for production or procurement:
1. Personal Protective Equipment - PPE (masks, gloves, visors, etc.) to support providers and the most vulnerable communities and caregivers;

2. Medical equipment such as respirators / ventilators;

3. Crown virus testing kits;

4. Equipment and process improvement for hazardous infectious medical waste management.

The aim of this challenge is not only to stimulate private sector production but also to stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship in times of crisis. Finalists, that is, selected projects deemed to be ready for implementation, will be given the opportunity to co-finance implementation costs. In addition, UNDP, in collaboration with WHO, will facilitate dialogue with the relevant national services to obtain the necessary permits and promote selected solutions as examples of good practice.

The upcoming deadlines are:

First deadline: April 10, 2020

Second date: 24 April 2020
