EUROBOT 2019: FTN robotics bring gold to Serbia

PMG robotics team from the Faculty of Technical Sciences took the first place at this year's EUROBOT 2019 competition in France, making Serbia the best in this field among teams from around the world.

The PMG robotics team, made by students of the fourth year of Mechatronics, after five competitive rounds, played in play-off with seven more teams. In the final match, our team was defeated by the Russian Reset team from the Skoltech Space Center, the Institute of Science and Technology in Moscow and thus won the EUROBOT 2019. With the team of professors from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management who prepared the students, this is the 19th time FTN students represent Serbia on EUROBOT and have been remarkably successful each year, taking second, third and fourth place more often. The competition was held in La Roche Sir Jon from May 30 to June 1 and gathered 33 teams from 16 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America. Serbia was represented by three teams that won the National Competition: PMG robotics, Memristor and Probotech from the Faculty of Technical Sciences. The theme of this year's competition was Atom Factory, in honor of Dmitry Mendeleyev, a great chemist, who revolutionized our understanding of matter 150 years ago and made the classification of chemical elements. Robots have the task of performing actions that symbolically represent an experiment, classifying and measuring atoms, and many other things completely autonomously.
